PERUBATAN Cawangan Mansurah

On the 7^th of November 2011, Majlis Sambutan Aidiladha or ADHA ’11 was organised by PERUBATAN Cawangan Mansurah (PCM). The event, in conjuction to the celebration of Eid Adha, was themed “abadikan cinta dengan pengorbanan” (Immortalize love through sacrification). The event took place at the street of Syed Hassan from 7.00am until 4.30pm.

This event is one of the annual events conducted by PCM every year in Eid Adha. The event was conjured with objectives to strengthen the bonds between the PCM leaders and the members, which consist of the Malaysian students in Mansoura, promoting unity among Malaysian community, as well as to instil the awareness of the true values of Eid Adha among those involved.

For the committees, the event had begin few days before the actual date, as the committee had been busy sorting details such as venue, equipments and manpower. Some even had to took the task of guarding the animals used for the event, as to avoid the animals from disappear or stolen. Overall, one cow, three camels and khoruf, and forty-six goats were prepared for the event. Unfortunately, one of the goats died a day before the event.

The event begins as early as 6.30am; with people begin to flock around the venue, excluding the committees who had been guarding the animals throughout the night. Other commitee members begin to show up and tasks were qiven. At 7.00am, animals begin to be slaughter, beginning with the goats. Names of those who had reserve their share of animals were called occurding to the list and were brought to the slaughter ground, where they were to witness the slaughter of their reserved animals. The animals slaughtered were carried to another site by committee as well by volunteers to be skinned and sliced. Parts were then divided occordingly into four; skin and organs content were put in one container, while three others were bones, meat and the stomach.

Despite having large amount of animals, the event went ahead smoothly. By 1.30pm, all the animals had slaughtered, including the three camels and the cow.

The meats, bones and some of the organs bought to an appartment of one of the students where they were processed and pack for the reservers. Reservers, mostly students, were told to return to the distribution point at 4.00pm to collect the bones. The skins and stomach contents were donated to a mosque, where they were to be processed and given as charity to orphanage.

By 2.30pm the programme had ended and the venue had been cleaned.

At 4.00pm, the committees in charge of distribution begin distributing the meat.

To wrap the whole event a dinner was held for the committees and volunteers who involved at 8.00pm.
