May 13th, Mansoura– For the first time ever, a gathering event for Malaysian students of Mansoura University especially for the whole batch of Mansoura-Manchester Programme students were organized successfully by Human Development Unit, PERUBATAN Cawangan Mansurah. The event was known as Manchester Family Outing 2011. Eager participants showed up with bright faces early in the morning around 7.30a.m., to join different kind of activities occurred at the same time on that day, Explorace, Telematches, Street Soccer & Tug of War.
Food stalls were also there selling delicacies for participants as well as other participants who were not involved with activities that morning. Before starting any activities, participants registered themselves at the Registration Counter and each activity started around 8.40a.m., and finished before Friday prayers started.
That evening, participants gathered again for closing ceremony in Kamaluddin Hall, in Faculty of Medicine Mansoura University with representative from PERUBATAN, Mohd Hazwan Rusli. A recitation of Surah and prayers in the beginning starts out that evening programme. As a representative from Mansoura University, Dr. Nesrene gave a brief speech then followed by a talk given by Wan Mohamed Hanif Osman as the director of Manchester Family Outing for this year. In between agendas, lucky draws heated up the event as everyone was being hopeful to be the lucky person to be called up to the front to receive prizes.
The event moved on to the next agenda, public speaking by our final participants; Noor Shazwani binti Md Nasir and Khairun Nabihah binti Nordin. Both participants gave out their best shot based on their respective topics which gave an idea to the attendants of few information, since the topic brought out was pretty impressive and reflective. Next agenda placed in by three boys which made an appearance by singing Edcoustic’s song, a very meaningful song to them; as said by one of the boys.
As the singing ended, a talk given by Chairman of PERUBATAN Cawangan Mansurah, Ahmad Azizi bin Md Jusoh seen to have made the attendants become attentive since he included a very interesting story for everyone. Next talk by representative of PERUBATAN, Mohd Hazwan Rosli was about congratulating admirable the students for organizing a successful gathering event even though ‘’exam fever’’ is wandering among them, also highlighted about changing the perception of people who misjudged due to ‘’Islamophobic’’.
Approaching ending, Nik NurFariha binti Mohamed Zalami, Deputy Secretary of PERUBATAN Cawangan Mansurah, as head of judges of public speaking summarizes her speech on points should be included in the public speaking. Winners of competitions received their prizes, and attendants sang ‘’Negaraku’’ with high spirit and harmony ends the event.
Though everyone looked somehow tan and tired in the evening, it is greatly appreciated that people still came for the closing ceremony. A few interviews been made and most of them said the event was enjoyable.
