1st may 2011- While all the labors around the world are celebrating labor day, the Community Service Unit of MMA held a program titled “Health Talk on Endemic Diseases in Egypt” targeting the Year 1 and 2 Medical students of Mansura University. The program was held at Darul Rahmah, from 1230 till 1530.
The program started with a brief speech from the Chief of Academic Unit of PCM, Mohammad Iskandar Bin Sa’uadi and a delightful speech from Qatrunnada Binti Mohamad Farid as a representative of PCM.
Attended by about 40 students, participants were givena brief talk on Bilharziasis by DhamirahNazihahMohdNasiruddin (Semester 10) and on HCV infection by Qatrunnada. “A very interesting and up to date topic” said one of the participants.The participants were then divided into groups of 3-4 for crossword puzzle solving on the topic given. The puzzle was prepared as a denotation of their attentiveness during the talk.
As part of MMA community service, we arranged basic clinical skills training for the participants on BP measurement and reflexes examination. Each group were provided with volunteers from MMA members as tutors.It was such a blissful moment for us to see the participants enjoying themselves during this session.
Prizes were given by Qatrunnada, Vice President II of PCM to the winner at the end of program . Here are some feedbacks that we’ve received from the participants, “I hope that MMA can provide morespacious and conducive area”,“We hope that MMA can provide more activity to non-MMA members and also to provide handouts for the participants during the health talk”.
MMA take each and every feedback as constructive criticism for us to improve.
